I would hope that anyone reading a blog would not assume that it is perfect. My writings are often written off the cuff, and although I try to provide information that is accurate and complete, it should not be taken as gospel. Therefore, in view of the rapid changes occurring in the field of medicine and medical publishing, as well as the possibility of human error, there will be posts that contain technical inaccuracies, typographical or other errors. The information contained herein is provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind and I disclaim responsibility for any errors or omissions or for results obtained from the use of the information I provide.

Important: If you have medical concerns, you need an exam and should not diagnose yourself by using this site or any other medical information you read. I see many people that diagnose themselves, even with simple common problems, yet when I examine them I find they are often nowhere close! This blog does contain some medical and science posts that you may find interesting, but if you have a problem I cannot and will not consult with you through comments alone. See your primary care manager physician for advice on your medical problem. I may be available to review medical records, or to see you as a consultant, but this is on a case-by-case basis.

Training and racing questions are different in that I am not “treating” you when providing advice. If you are looking for coaching advice, I may be available for depending on your needs. You can achieve a lot without a coach, but if you have specific goals a coach can save you a lot of time and disappointment. As a physician, seasoned and successful athlete, I am pretty well equipped to coach a lot of different types of athletes. I prefer to coach for triathlon (sprint distance through Ironman), marathon running, and long distance cycling (metric century to double century).

Arguments and comments on my posts are welcome, as I am always trying to learn and appreciate the feedback.
